The National Fenestration Awards turn 10 in 2023

They want to celebrate in style starting with an expertly designed new logo! Founded in 2013 by Jason Grafton-Holt, in response to a plethora of support for an independent and all-inclusive event, the National Fenestration Awards aims to recognise all facets of the UK fenestration industry by inviting everyone to nominate and vote on who they think deserves recognition. Now, in their tenth year, it’s time to commemorate thier vast achievement with a celebratory new logo!

There are no judges, no panels and no applications. The outcome of the competition is decided entirely by industry participation. All members of the fenestration industry get to submit nominations for each category which then get narrowed down to shortlists based on the number of nominations. The industry can then vote on those shortlists to decide the overall winner.

In 2013 their first year, they saw wins from big names in the industry for example VEKA being crowned PVC champions and Solidor being awarded composite door company, they also had a 2013 cool wall award showing some impressive installations.

Jason Grafton-Holt commented after the first years awards “The National Fenestration Awards will always be all-inclusive of the industry and support it. This project is not just about winners and prizes – it’s a long-term project to support the industry, get behind it, see changes happen for the better and bring a much-needed “voice” to our industry.”

2014 saw some up-and-coming businesses take home an award like Truemans taking home the trade counter award and they held their first ever winners’ event – a car racing extravaganza featuring land rovers and caterhams at Oulton Park in Cheshire.

Lee Clarke, now company director on the day “From day one, it had always been the aim of the NFAs to be able to celebrate winners at a physical event. So this Thursday marked an important step for the awards, and for those attending and to receive their awards.”The 2015 NFA awards crowned 16 winners with timber company going to Glyngary Joinery with another racing day taking place including toyota GT 86 rally cars followed by an awards presentation at the Foggarty Moss Suite, again at Oulton Park.

2016’s winner’s event was also a car racing day with entertainment from an amazing live band after 17 awards were given our including a win for Vista Panels for composite/panelled doors. Jason commented “One of the key themes of the winners this year has been the high percentage of first time winners in the NFAs. We see this as a result of increasing market penetration the awards now has a the major awareness it garners”,

In 2017 the NFAs saw wins for Morley Glass and Glazing and Masterframe along with the celebrations taking place at the first National Fenestration Awards winners event held at a racecourse with dining and a full race card.

2018 had even more winners with the likes of Business Micros and Selecta winning awards and enjoying another day at the races with the fenestration industry.

In 2019 both Liniar and Kolorseal were crowned champions with more awards added including Heart of the Industry and Lifetime Achievement.

Even covid didn’t stop the awards from happening in 2020 after winners were announced in a landmark video presentation and trophies given out at our joint winners’ event in 2021 held at Doncaster Racecourse in the Hilton Garden Suite.

2021 champions included Vitrine Aluminium and Eurocell Plc who all got together to celebrate their wins at Doncaster racecourse.

In January 2022 co-founder and director Jason Grafton-Holt, handed the organizer baton over to Lee Clarke and a growing team of superb industry people who took the NFAs further and higher than ever before.

After a hugely successful 2022 campaign which saw over 35 winners take home a trophy. The NFA team added 2 surprise, and special, awards to their presentation including longevity and lifetime achievement going to Glyngary Joinery and Roger Hartshorn of Garnalex respectively. This winner’s event was their biggest and best yet, with showstopping singing waiters, a full race card and a spectacular performance from Helter Skelter, and they want to continue that momentum into 2023.

2023 campaign

Campaign dates will be announced soon with nominations estimated to start in early 2023 and remain for 3 months. Voting will open around the middle of the year and will close towards the end of the year, as the NFA team start preparing for the 10-year celebration winners event!

In a milestone year for the National Fenestration Awards, and with a focus on 10 consecutive years in the industry, they are excited to announce their NEW Instagram account. Hannah, Marketing Assistant at the National Fenestration Awards states “We’re looking to celebrate our 10-year anniversary in style, and with a focus on our history in pictures, there’s no better way to get those throwback photos out there!”
