FENSA to lead Building Our Skills ‘Inspiring The Future’ Campaign
FENSA, the glazing industry’s leading competent person scheme, is set to lead the Building Our Skills ‘Inspiring The Future’ campaign to introduce Fenestration to the schools’ sector. The campaign is one of a number being championed by the Building Our Skills team who are delighted to be joining forces with FENSA.Building Our Skills ambassador John Ogilvie takes up the story, “when we started the Building Our Skills campaign we recognised that what we needed to do was spread the word Fenestration as far and wide as we could, as quickly as we could”.“We realised from the earliest point that getting the message into the education sector about what a great industry ours is to make a career was going to be pivotal to helping create the next generation of workers, and through our partnership with the department of education allied Education and Employers organisation, we have exactly that opportunity”.“The ‘Inspiring The Future’ campaign is about people from within our industry committing one hour of their time each year to go into schools local to them to tell children what they do, and the industry they do it in. It is about inspiring them to think about our industry and the amazing opportunities available to them when thinking about their careers”.“We are delighted that FENSA has agreed to come on board. As a leading brand in the industry it is ideally placed to lead this campaign and has the advantage that of already being recognised at a consumer level, which is where the BOS campaign wants to be recognised. We believe that parents are big influencers on the career paths their children take and knowing FENSA as a trustworthy brand will bring added credibility to the campaign”.GGF Commercial Group MD, Anda Gregory, “The Building Our Skills initiative is fantastic news for the glazing industry and FENSA are delighted to be supporting the ‘Inspiring The Future’ campaign. We’re taking the skills shortage threatening the sector very seriously, so any opportunity we have to bang the drum about what a fulfilling and rewarding career the industry can provide is a natural fit for FENSA. Building Our Skills is a campaign for the whole industry, and we’re committed to playing our part”.FENSA Director of Membership, Chris Beedel, “This is a perfect match with Building Our Skills. We’re incredibly passionate about helping to find the next generation of glazing professionals and it’s part of our drive to continually find new installers and one day welcome them in to the FENSA community. We’re committed to raising standards across the industry and if we can help educate young children, teenagers, graduates and young adults as part of this campaign it will go a long way to achieving that goal.”The campaign is designed to enable anybody from any company in the industry to get involved.Simply visit www.buildingourskills.co.uk or sign in to the installer portal on www.fensa.org to register your interest in committing one hour of your time to help raise awareness of the Fenestration Industry in the education sector.
