SIEGENIA launches first ever UK designed hardware range

Becoming General Manager of one of the hardware sector’s leading businesses at the age of 31 Ryan Thompson started in his role during one of the most challenging times in the industry’s history.

The Covid pandemic put pressures on supply chain businesses that they had never experienced before, but under his leadership SIEGENIA navigated the pandemic, servicing its customers with commendable levels of success.

Now just five years later, Ryan is about to lead the team into unchartered waters again, this time as SIEGENIA launches its first ever product range designed specifically with the UK market in mind.

SIEGENIA has been an ever present in the UK for over 35 years with a universally respected range of Tilt and Turn, Residential Door, and Patio hardware. Their products are popular amongst fabricators and installers, specifiers and architects.

But 2026 will see something new, a full range of friction hinges, espagnolettes and new door locks, with fabricators and installers very much at the forefront of the design thinking - reduced stockholding, ease of production and ease of installation. These products have been designed in the UK, by SIEGENIA’s in-house team following extensive discussions with their customer base and it marks a significant shift for the company.

Speaking about the launch of the new range Ryan explained:

“Our running feedback from the market was that customers wanted complete solutions, they valued quality over low-cost products as they felt that they end up catching the cost later down the line in replacements or remedial actions. Customers like the SIEGENIA TBT solutions and wanted products of that quality that would work for casements and residential doors so that they could source a full suite of hardware from one manufacturer.”

“Our service and support are always commented on, but customers wanted our range extended past the 7% of the market in which we have historically operated. They told us that if they had a partner on open-out solutions that mirrored their partnership with us on TBT then their businesses would benefit.”

So, is this first regionally designed range the start of a move away from the philosophy of the German based parent group? Not a bit of it says Ryan:

“Germany are at the forefront of design on all our core products and set the philosophy for the company as a whole. In addition to the technical expertise of the company there is also a 360-degree focus on service, looking at benefits and added value for customers at every level of the chain, and also, sustainability, whether of sourcing, stockholding or the creation of long-lasting future-proof solutions”.

“The new UK approach compliments this by offering a suite of products for different opening types while minimising the number of parts required. The aim is to fuse the quality and rigour of the German group product development and strategy with localised design and service.”

“It is well known that SIEGENIA is renowned for the technical qualities of its products, and in the UK, its reputation benefits further from the support of a team of extremely knowledgeable and experienced staff. They provide high levels of communication with the customer, creating an environment where the customer can rely on them for honest, transparent answers regardless of the issue.”

“It is one of the key features of my business philosophy that I place great importance on ownership at all levels, so each member of staff sees that their involvement adds value to every action SIEGENIA UK takes as a business. This increases performance, our work ethic increases as our employees want to succeed and it becomes more than a 9-5 job. Everyone wants to succeed as it feels personal, so our staff always go above and beyond.
